Unfortunately, I really dislike the book itself。 Let me count the ways:1。 The Meet Cute through a call by the heroine to tech support for web design software is like reliving every traumatic tech call I ever had。 It doesn't matter that they're flirting with each other。 I have no desire to read a transcript of any kind of tech support call for any reason。2。 There is no company in the world that would allow a tech support employee to stay on the line with a single customer as long as this guy did。 For the vast majority of them, 10 minutes is the absolute max。3。 It is hard to identify with or respect a woman who is so utterly tech clueless that she's never updated her operating system on her laptop and yet blithely decides to venture into designing her own website。 4。 It gives me cold chills imagining that two people would get together romantically if this is how they first meet。 Talk about the concept of stranger danger being utterly ignored。In short, this plot is completely improbable to the point where I can't make myself go on with this novel。DNF 。。。more

I mean, have you ever had to make one of those maintenance phone calls? It’s endless waiting and being transferred from one line to the next。 Vera and Cal’s phone call is the most insane, most hilarious phone call ever - I swear to you, these two had me giggling the whole time - and it’s totally relatable。 I can definitely imagine two people falling in (at least) like with each other of that。I will say that there’s two big twists in the story that I figured out very fast, but that didn’t impact my enjoyment of the book one bit。 Also, there’s zero steam as the book is focused on the “falling” in love part。 I found it very endearing!IN A NUTSHELL:Pure RomCom BLISS。 Hilarious。 Heartwarming。 Tender。 A quick, summer read that will leave you grinning from ear to ear。Thank you to netgalley and Headline Eternal for my eARC。 All thoughts and opinions are my own。 。。。more

Okay, I accidentally read "Sweet Talk" fist because I didn't realize it was the sequel。 Although Sweet Talk definitely had spoilers for "Call Me Maybe" it was still so cute and the spoilers didn't ruin the story at all。 I laughed through the entire story and loved the Vera's growth through the story。 Highly recommended for romcom lovers。 Okay, I accidentally read "Sweet Talk" fist because I didn't realize it was the sequel。 Although Sweet Talk definitely had spoilers for "Call Me Maybe" it was still so cute and the spoilers didn't ruin the story at all。 I laughed through the entire story and loved the Vera's growth through the story。 Highly recommended for romcom lovers。 。。。more

I would gladly read a hundred more of these audible originals because they are so wonderfully wholesome and sweet。I really enjoyed Sweet Talk and Call Me Maybe was just as good。Kal and Vera were adorable, awkward and so perfect for each other。 I absolutely loved the narrators, they're voices were spot on, so natural and I loved their performances。The story was cute and just like a disney show where the characters always get cut off before they are supposed to say a very important thing。 I really I would gladly read a hundred more of these audible originals because they are so wonderfully wholesome and sweet。I really enjoyed Sweet Talk and Call Me Maybe was just as good。Kal and Vera were adorable, awkward and so perfect for each other。 I absolutely loved the narrators, they're voices were spot on, so natural and I loved their performances。The story was cute and just like a disney show where the characters always get cut off before they are supposed to say a very important thing。 I really enjoyed this book and I hope there will be more in the future。 。。。more

This was so much fun and such a delight! I recently binged (and loved) this author’s Forever Yours series and couldn’t wait to listen to these audible exclusive audiobooks。 And this did not disappoint! Vera calls in for tech support for her new business website and ends up spending the entire day & night chatting with the customer service rep, Cal。 Their conversation is full of laughs, it gets techy, they get flirty, but they also just get personal and form a friendship/relationship。 I adored how sweet Cal was…staying on the phone with her when she has to call an auto repair shop, ordering her dinner and caring that she’s been starving all day, desperately wanting her to stay cyber safe (not give away her location or personal details to him which definitely goes awry)。 I loved Vera, she had me laughing so much and I wanted her business to succeed as much as she (and Cal) did。 Cal’s cat was also hilarious but I probably could have done without the cat-napping threats plot。 Even seeing how this story was going to unravel (involving her brother), I still just had a great time and loved this story so much。 The entirety of the story follows Vera & Cal chatting over the phone, emails, and texts and ends with them meeting for the first time in person…so even minus kissing or any steam, I had such a great time and I’ve already started the 2nd which follows Vera’s brother。 。。。more

Borderline cringey! The audio had a big production to it (you read phone ringing, you hear the phone ring, cats meow, etc) and I found it extremely Cheesey although it was well done and I could see other people maybe really loving that aspect, I did not。
Tonya Shaw,
LOVE!!!

This is a short, sweet romance that I really enjoyed。 Both Cal and Vera were great characters and I loved how this book starts with their conversation which was so much fun to read! It was a little predictable (which romance isn't though) but there was one surprising twist which I enjoyed as much as the characters, if not more! The romance was sweet, for the most part。 It was a little much for me at parts but I was rooting for them so much, especially near the end, that I don't mind。Overall, I'm This is a short, sweet romance that I really enjoyed。 Both Cal and Vera were great characters and I loved how this book starts with their conversation which was so much fun to read! Wow just wow。 This audio book through audible was incredible。 Most books it’s the audio trying to stand up to the book (and honestly falling a lot of the time)。 This book felt like it was written to be an audio book。 I LOVED the added touches of background sound like texting dings and his car meowing。 Honestly this feels like the new form of audio book。 It kept me captivated, add to that the male did ALL the male parts and vice verse。 It wasn’t one narrator filling both roles。 Man I could go on Wow just wow。 This audio book through audible was incredible。 Most books it’s the audio trying to stand up to the book (and honestly falling a lot of the time)。 This book felt like it was written to be an audio book。 I LOVED the added touches of background sound like texting dings and his car meowing。 Honestly this feels like the new form of audio book。 It kept me captivated, add to that the male did ALL the male parts and vice verse。 It wasn’t one narrator filling both roles。 Man I could go on and on about the audio。 However the book was more then that。 It was so stinking cute。 I absolutely fell for the characters。 Cal and Vera were just too cute together。 I enjoyed their interactions and rooted for the finale。 I’m looking forward to listening to more by this author and audio books rarely hold up for me!! 。。。more

Thank you to Netgalley, publishers and to the author for a copy in exchange for an honest review。Firstly, I love the concept of this book with following over a call (while I’m sure its much better to listen to on audible), I still felt it captured it perfectly in ebook form。 I’ve never read anything like it and for that I loved it!Both characters in this book were really lovable, and its the first book in a long time that I actually found funny (even from the start!) and I wish I could have seen Thank you to Netgalley, publishers and to the author for a copy in exchange for an honest review。Firstly, I love the concept of this book with following over a call (while I’m sure its much better to listen to on audible), I still felt it captured it perfectly in ebook form。 I’ve never read anything like it and for that I loved it!Both characters in this book were really lovable, and its the first book in a long time that I actually found funny (even from the start!) and I wish I could have seen their chemistry when they finally met。I never expected there to be twists in this book, but there were and they were good!
